She makes me think I should put my head in the sand and just give up, she's so good. Rosemary and Rue is the first ,and it's a good 'un.bettieleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02113663226939801759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-594689579626985769.post-79611780049206107052012-03-26T07:59:18.132-08:002012-03-26T07:59:18.132-08:00Ooh - lovely recommendations. It's got such a unique, and uniquely urban world, and is so emotionally charged!

Adding my own recommendations here for urban fantasy:

Lilith Saintcrow's Jill Kismet series. It's dark and intense, sometimes heartbreaking, with incredible action sequences.

Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series. It's a fascinating world of magic versus man-made tech, with brilliant twists on genre tropes (such as vampires). And it's funny.

Richard Kadrey's Sandman Slim series. The story of a man who escaped from Hell looking for revenge, who found a whole lot more. It's urban fantasy noir, and absolutely engrossing.Hillary Jacqueshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10394482441040531244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-594689579626985769.post-34683512914643233862012-03-26T05:50:57.115-08:002012-03-26T05:50:57.115-08:00Congrats on the release, Diane! I love my action with a mad heaping of bwa-ha-ha. For the "boom-boom" stuff, I'm a lot biased: DBtM (obviously) and Banshee Charmer by Tiffany Allee.CobraMisfithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08076556754472094027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-594689579626985769.post-84523782038554172642012-03-26T05:46:54.623-08:002012-03-26T05:46:54.623-08:00Very interesting interview, enjoyed it!
